Domestic Abuse Professional Training
Clare’s training has been commissioned across the UK for the past 20 years, to multiagency audiences across all sectors and including the Military, from basic awareness raising to Masterclasses. In more recent years Clare has also been commissioned overseas; Cypress, Australia, US and Italy, SSAFA, The Hatchery & private clients.
Clare is a known expert on coercive control and explains the dynamics and interactions of power imbalances. Professionals need to have an awareness of this power dynamic from their role, and how that, interplays with a clients engagement. Clare is the domestic abuse expert for various organisations including the Restart 360 (working with young people at risk of radicalisation & county lines), Fostering Hope; Kings College London (Foster Carers of Mother & Baby placements), London Coordinators Accreditation Partnership. Clare also delivers as a Visiting Lecturer to Social Work students as part of their degree courses at Universities.
All aspects of her training can be tailored to fit the need on anything domestic abuse related, such as; domestic abuse dynamics, identifying intentions or a perpetrator and victims responses and levels of risk coercive control, power imbalances, what underpins manifested behaviours, coping strategies as well as safeguarding and the long-term developmental effects on the children, Family Courts, use of spiritual abuse, correlation of domestic abuse increasing potential to gang culture, radicalisation and acts of terror.

Clare’s contribution in the capacity of a trainer and providing group supervision to our Freedom Programme facilitators over the years, has been instrumental in the success of the programme roll out.
We have been working with Clare since 2016. First in the capacity of Freedom Programme trainer, which then developed to providing group supervision to our trained Freedom Programme facilitators. This element of support has been instrumental in establishing a sustainable model of delivery across the borough.
